Planning an October Family Vacation Holiday, the place to be is in St. Lucia for Our International Creole month (Jounen Kwéyòl Entennasyonnal). This Festival is held from the 30th
of September to the 30th of October 2013. The Creole festivities
include La Maguerite Flower Festival, Creole Dance Fiesta, Creole Tea Party,
Creole Fashion Shows and the Creole Film Festival. On the 27th of
October three or four communities are selected to host this major event.
Activities such as Creole Food
and Drink Fairs, local dishes of Greenfig and saltfish (National Dish), Crab calaloo, hot bakes and
cocoa tea; Creole Mass. Demonstrations
of traditional technologies, equipment and items depicting the folk life of the
ancestors of modern day such as the coal pot are also displayed on this day.
Lots of
people come out to these communities to take part in this celebration and they
are all dressed in the National Wear
