One of the most popular shows ever held on the island is the St.Lucia Jazz festival. It seems to be an event that everyone looks forward to, regardless of age group, and the one thing they all have in common is the love of music. An annually held festival towards the ending of the month of April and the first two weeks of May is always one to look forward to. Generating persons from all corners of the world, this year the line up looks a bit exciting and not forgetting very entertaining.
With tickets ranging from $40-$70 USD per person that is exceptionally affordable for the caliber of artists who are invited. A few of the events are local and free but those which stand out most are held on the 10th, 11th and 12th May. I am sure no one would really want to miss out on artists like The Jacksons, Ginuwine and ACE who will be opening up the main events on Friday may 10th. The next day Saturday May 11th will definitely be one to enjoy with performers such as Akon, Tito Puente Jr., Tony Allen with the FELA dancers, Robbie Greenidge & David Rudder. And as the norm goes the best always seems to be saved for last. Everyone seems to be very excited to the performances of R. Kelly, The O"jays, Brian Culbertson, and our very own Folk Coalition (Ronald "Boo" Hinkson featuring indigenous Saint Lucian musicians). Each of these individual celebrities are calling out to someone out there.
